A Family Business, Second Generation

Nye Technical Services started with Vic Nye. Vic founded Nye Electric and has more than 50 years in the trade, running cable and installing security cameras for businesses in the Pittsburgh region.

Bud Nye started working with his father at 14 and learned the trade from him. He took over the business in 2017 and has built it into a commercial integrator: security cameras, access control, alarms, structured cabling, commercial AV and network consulting, with offices in Pittsburgh and Lancaster.

We are still family owned. Vic is still with us as field superintendent, and the standard he set is the one our crew carries to every site. The crew is the reason the name means something. They show up, do the work right, label it, test it and hand it over documented.

  • One team, design to installThe same team takes your project from the first walkthrough through design, install and handoff.
  • Our own techniciansIn our five states, NTS technicians do the installs. Projects beyond those states run through our partner network with our own project management.
  • Documented handoffEvery system is labeled, tested and handed over with as-builts, so you know exactly what you own.
  • Local supportWhen something needs attention, you call our office in Pittsburgh or Lancaster and talk to our team.

Where We Work

We run two offices: our headquarters in Harmony, north of Pittsburgh in Butler County, and our office in Lancaster. Our own crews work across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, New York and Maryland. For companies with locations beyond those states, we manage multi-site projects through our partner network, with completed work in 21 states and Washington, D.C.

The People Who Do the Work

We hire and train our own people, including veterans and recent high school graduates. We believe in continuing education and investing in our team, so every quarter we pay for training, manufacturer or otherwise, and our people take it on company time.
